Dakota Village Christmas...

We had a beautifully bright Saturday and took advantage of it, heading to the Dakota County Fairgrounds' Village Christmas. All of the buildings are historical buildings that have been moved to the fairgrounds to make up the village.

(I told Alex we were going to use this one for our Christmas card if he was naughty!)

We went into the church where we sang Christmas carols and on the way out played with the old fashion phone, but look what we found inside:

Alex didn't get the irony, but enjoyed the phone none the less!

At the printing press:

At the post office, Mrs. Claus was there to help the children write letters to Santa:

We went next door to see Santa:

It was a fun day and a beautiful evening, complete with a full moon!

Fastenator...

According to Wikipedia (love it!), a fastenator is a headpiece, a style of hat. Well insert a Martha Stewart wanna-be on a shoe string budget in need of a hat (me) and this is the result:

I loved how it turned out! It cost me $20 to make (with lots of leftovers). I wish I had more places to wear a hat because I would make one in every color!
I wore this to the Christmas Magnolia Luncheon at the Edina Country Club. I cannot wait to our spring luncheon...already planning a spring-like fastenator!

Falling for Fall...

I hosted a fall tag swap, Falling for Fall. Everyone's tags were beautiful, the colors are my fave.

Here are some close-ups:

Here's mine:

I'm working on my next set of tags, it's a White Christmas tag swap. Ready to fill my wreath with them!

Snow Funny....

We had our first snow of the season. Alex decided that he needed his helmet on to play outside:

He loves headgear!!
BTW, snow melted in two days.

Belt Testing...

It was belt testing time again - still a blue belt, but with a yellow stripe:

Alex was an honor student this testing:

New belt:

Alex noticed that his and dad's black belts are on the wall:

Getting closer and closer to that black belt!
