Pinterest Made Me Do It #8...

 

We love snow globes!  Over the years with multiple moves, I've lost a few, but here's what we have:

 

Alex mentioned that he wanted to make his own, so thanks to Pinterest, I found a "recipe".  I had read that instead of the glycerine, I could use baby oil.  I love these cute lil mason jars, but they turned out to not be tall enough, oh well.

 

 

We glued then waited for it to dry.  Alex and I played some cards:

Finally, they were dry and ready to finish:

They're cute and we're enjoying them!

Sally's Baking Addiction is an addicting blog, so many yummy ideas.

 

 I had an annual cookie party to attend, so I needed 5 dozen cookies and these were EASY.  I doubled the recipe and used red velvet cake mix:

 

Sally has a great tutorial on making dough taller than wider to keep the cookies chewy on the inside: 

 

I dropped the dough into powdered sugar and was happy that when I rolled them, it didn't stain my hands (added bonus!): 

 

I think that the end result was very festive and tasted good: 

 

Two boxes make 6 dozen cookies, perfect - enough for the cookie swap and some leftover for my cookie monsters!

Look at this beautiful picture:

I just had to make those gorgeous cookie trees.
I couldn't find graduated star cookie cutters, but I got a great deal on some snowflake ones at Marshall's.

Nailed it, didn't I?  HA!  Not!!  The don't look very pretty but they were tasty.
