Smoochin Doilies...

Huh? What's up with the title? Haha, just seeing if you really read the title of the posts! Sorry, it's Saturday morning, I've only had one cup of coffee, Daisy opened a hundred plastic Easter eggs to eat all of Alex's candy (wrapped or not!) and Alex is at his dad's this weekend, SOOOO, I have way too much time on my hands! :)

Today's my Paw's birthday - Happy Birthday Paw, we love you! I got to talk to him already this morning, miss him very much!

I used my awesome Smooch spray in Frosted Grape (remember when I got smooched?) and a paper doilie to create the background - love that shade of purple! I broke out some vintage (ha!) Doodlebug for the stickers and patter papers.

I have two more layouts on my desk drying that I'll hopefully finish today and I need to post Alex's birthday invites and thank you cards - I think they turned out "sweet"!

Hope you are having a delightful weekend!

Springtime Odds and Ends...

You know it's springtime around here when...Mommy starts drinking chilled wines and sangria:

(my super cute stemless wine glasses came from Marshal's)

You know it's springtime around here when...you can go to school in a hooded sweatshirt instead of a down-parka:

(Alex & classmate Carson)

You know it's springtime around here when...mommy wanders around downtown Edina, having lunch on Potbelly's patio, and shopping at Hunt & Gather (a great antique shop recommended by Christine Middlecamp, thanks Christine cannot wait to go back!):

These two photos have nothing to do with springtime, but they were fun finds.
Cute little button "buckets" at Michaels (in the dollar bin!):

Cosmo Cricket alpha stickers and Sassafrass tapes - YuMmY:

This photo just makes me happy:
Wearing Wolverine claws makes doing homework SO much easier!

We are enjoying our spring, hope you are too!

Bowling Party...

For Alex's bestie, Max:

Such a fun time!

Did the limbo:

Waiting his turn:

The birthday boy:

Alex loved the music and lights, he DANCED more than he bowled:

Cake and presents:

Max was SO excited that Alex got him a Wii racing game with a steering wheel (he stayed with us one day during spring break and mentioned that a steering wheel & game were on his list!).

Carson and Alex checking out Max's presents:

We had a great time celebrating Max's 7th birthday with him!!

My monkey...

LOVES monkey bread!

He comments all the time how he missed OK and having monkey bread for breakfast (we got it at Super Walmarts - which we don't have here).
I decided to make some since we were on spring break and had no place to go in the mornings. I love how excited he was:

We made homemade cream cheese icing for it too. It was yummy, but The Walmarts monkey bread is better!!

Happy Easter...

The Easter bunny hippoty-hopped to our house:

He LOVES chocolate, so this bunny made him SO happy!!

After a beautiful church service (there was no children's church so I got to have Alex sit with me - loved that!!), we headed outside to hunt eggs while the ham, potatoes and other yummies cooked.

In one of our window boxes we found a brown dove sitting on her nest with this real egg:

After peeking at it, we left it alone to find the plastic, candy filled eggs!

The golden (Spongebob!) egg:

It was so wonderful to be able to hunt eggs outside, it's the first time since we've lived in MN that we've been able to do so!

After lunch we feasted on lemon cake (I missed having coconut cake - a tradition that my parents started when they married, but since Alex won't eat coconut and I do NOT need an entire cake just for myself, we went with lemon!):

Such a wonderful Easter! My favorite part was sitting in church next to my handsome little man hearing him respond to the pastor with "He has Risen indeed" reinforcing that he knows the real reason for the season and all the rest is just icing on the cake!

Egg Dying Fun...

Alex really got into dying eggs, making designs and layering the colors:

(Love how he's waiting patiently with his chin in his hand!)

They turned out beautiful:
