So Thankful....

I needed a thank you card for a very special friend and really wanted to use my mason jar stamp.  This is what I came up with:
I love how it turned out...there's a lil glitter in the striped paper, the tag is a Chic Tag, and added bonus was using some of my button hoard collection!

Eat More Chicken....

I know that our families are so thankful that we're FINALLY getting a Chick-fil-A so we'll stop whining about missing those yummy chicken sammies!!  We went to Minnesota's first Chick-fil-A celebration and enjoyed a delicious sandwich!  Alex wanted nothing to do with going up in the hot air balloon, so we had our sandwiches and left.  Ha!

I wished that I could have that cup full of sweet tea:
They won't be open until the end of October, but we've waited this long, what's two more months?!

4th Grade...

This layout came together perfectly and quick for me!  Love the blue and green together and that cute lil man:
It's Friday and I'm counting down the days until my sweetie is home from his trip to Knoxville, TN.  I miss him so much and cannot wait to see him Tuesday night!

3rd Grade....

Alex's 3rd grade pictures weren't my fave, I'm not being mean because my own 3rd grade pictures were awful, so I guess it's tradition!  Ha!  The picture just doesn't look like his personality, he looks tired and his hair's a mess.  This child wakes up smiling and talking and he has really good hair!  Okay, so I love any and all pictures of him:
What grade, if any, did you not like your pictures?

1st Grade...

So excited that I got to use this 1st grade pattern paper:
I love the colors of this layout, not the traditional red, blue, green, yellow.
 Happy Hump Day!

Pinterest Made Me Do It #24.....

I'm back with another Doodlebug inspired class picture layout (whew, that's a mouthful!). THIS is the link for the original.  Here's mine:
This is my last class picture to scrap until we get 5th grade pictures taken.  5th grade?!?  How did my baby get to 5th grade?  I'm so excited for him, but cannot believe it's the last year of elementary school for Alex.  Time flies!

Pinterest Made Me Do It #23....

I'm still working my way through school pictures!  I struck gold on the Doodlebug blog for ideas with class pictures.  The Doodlebug layouts are 8x8, but are also perfect for 12x12.  THIS is the link for the original and here is mine:
Happy Monday, hope the coffee's plentiful and yummy!

Pinterest Made Me Do It #22.....

Today's post is a little Flash back on "Pinterest Made Me Do It" because back on #4, I made a fabric covered bulletin board for Alex.  I still had one for me and found some super cute fabric in my stash and knew that it was my turn to get a bulletin board!
Here are my supplies:

Luckily the spray adhesive is giving, allowing me to move the fabric around some:

Once the fabric is set, it was time to use my thumbtacks (make sure not to attach fabric to the back before this step so that it has some give):
Being the picky person that I am, I didn't like how the silver thumb tacks looked.

So I thought maybe I'd cover each tack with a button:
Unfortunately, I didn't have enough buttons, so that would be expensive to go the button route.

I spent $1.88 at the WalMarts for som white thumbtacks:
They were perfect!

Here's a peek at my scrap area:

Excuse the mess on the desk, Alex was there!  (love that he uses the area too!)

Over in the flower/ribbon corner is my cool tray:

 Then my fabric area/reading nook:

I have lots more ideas for decorating the craft space, but am trying to only use what I have on hand!

Pinterest Made Me Do It #21....

Saw THIS layout on Pinterest (the one on the right), but just didn't have a pattern paper that I liked, so I made my own!  I took a piece of grey cardstock, some acrylic alpha stamps and VersaMark:
I really like how it turned out.  I don't use my stamps often enough and need to start!
Here's the finished layout:
I'm loving all of the gold that's hot in scrapbooking right now and guess what I found in my stash?  2 sheets of gold glitter paper, SCORE!  So you'll be seeing gold glittery bits and bobs on my layouts.

Pinterest Made Me Do It # 19....

I have to ask myself if I ever have original thoughts anymore or does everything come from Pinterest?!  Well, why re-invent the wheel?  Ha!  When I saw THIS pin, I knew it was for me!  I made a ton of posies and then glue gunned them to my lampshade for my antique milk glass lamp:

 Then, viola:
LOVE!
I still really like the colors of the posies in the original pin, so I might need to acquire another milk glass lamp.

Pinterest Made Me Do It #18....

It makes me feel a little better to see that I'm up to Pinterest Made Me Do It #18, at least the amount of time I've spent on Pinterest is paying off!
When I saw THIS layout on Pinterest, I knew that I wanted to recreate it using stars.  It took longer than I would have liked, but I'm happy with how it turned out:
I love that Alex's friend Max is also in the picture as well as a girl from our church.  Makes me happy!

Pinterest Made Me Do It #17....

I pulled out all of my school papers and embellishments along with Haley and Alex's school pictures.  Alex's class pictures are hard to scrap.  I saw THIS layout on Pinterest and knew it was perfect for the class picture:
One down four more class pictures, need to find some more ideas!

3 Years Later...

Over three years ago, the uber talented Christine Middlecamp started a tutorial, The Embellished Paper Doily.  I only made 12 of them and then 2 years ago at ScrapFest, I bought a tray ~ I was getting closer!  With this summer being the summer of decorate my house with things I have on hand, I finally finished my Embellished Paper Doily project:

I really love how it turned out!  Here's the link to Christine's finished project.
I'll be back tomorrow with another Haley layout!

Simply Love her....

This photo of Haley is from 1999, she was 8 years old, wow, time flies!  Like yesterday's layout, I really wanted the layout to be simple because the photo is just beautiful.  I love the white space of this layout:
I'm really struggling with giving layout titles, don't know why.  Anyone else have that problem?

Always Beautiful....

I just love this photo of Haley (I know, I say that about every one of her pictures, she's SO darn photogenic!), I wanted to make sure the layout was simple and elegant, just like the photo:
I miss this girlie so much!  I'm so proud of her, she's enjoying life, exploring and so independent, GO Haley!

Pinterest Made Me Do It #15...

We have a small patio area that needs decor and since this summer's theme is crafting with what I have (with an item or two from the Dollar store/Goodwill), I used this pin for an outdoor wreath inspiration.
My supplies, a bag of moss, a wreath and three packs of clay post from the Dollar Tree ($5 if you're keeping count!) and string, scissors, glue & gun from my craft hoarding supplies:

I started by gluing the pots on one at a time them wrapping it securely to the wreath with clear string:

Once all the pots were on, I glue gunned moss to the wreath, making a huge mess:
As you can see in the top left corner, those are broken pots - I broke them ON PURPOSE and it was FUN!  I needed more pots for fillers, but refused to buy any more supplies (read: didn't want to change out of my pj's and leave the house!), so I went out to the patio and threw down my leftover 3 posts and viola:
I got three perennials from the farmers market for the pots and hung a trusty 3M hook on our privacy wall/fence that separates our patio from our neighbor's.

Here's our patio:

Oh look, it's the cutest fastest growing thing in our house:
He grows taller and sweeter every day.  NO. JOKE.  seriously sweet and always thanking us for taking him places and telling Bigs and I that we're "the best".  Crossing my fingers that he'll feel the same way when he's a teen!  Hehe, not likely, is it?!
Thanks for stoppin by!
