Jump Rope for Heart...

Alex participated in his school's Jump Rope for Heart and we had some very generous donations from family members.  I made these cards for him to send out to show his appreciation. 

A Book, bag & blanket...

I scrapbooked!  I took way too long to make this layout, slower than my usual slow.  I used Basic Grey papers with a tiny bit of MME.  I wrote on the back of the layout more about this special day - I really want to make sure that I include everything.  This is from Alex's 2nd grade year, we brought books to read, a bag lunch and a blanket to sit on.  The weather was perfect and so was the company!

Pinewood Derby....

Alex participated in his 1st Pinewood Derby, the 3rd & 4th grade Awanna students all participated.  Alex designed his car and it took 3rd place!

Such a fun morning!  Bigs took us out to eat afterwards, Alex of course chose Cracker Barrel so he could have a classic soda!

Happy Easter...

Easter has come and gone and this was the only picture that I took:

I made these cards to send to my Sunday School students.  Those lil 1st graders LOVED getting mail (who doesn't love getting happy mail?!).  The cards were from Michael's dollar spot and the papers were from Doodlebug.

We had a beautiful Easter ~ after church, we went to our friends' house for a ham lunch and Alex & Max entertained us with Wipeout on Xbox.

So thankful that we were able to celebrate Jesus' resurrection together!

Little Bits of Sunshine....

Today was our first day in the past week that we didn't have snow - it's April, Mother Nature, please bring sunshine!

Andy went to the store the other day and brought me these daisies, just as I was finishing this cute lil frame:

The frame was in the Michael's dollar spot, the paper in MME and the "B" is from Studio Calico.  I love how cute this looks on the mantel, so bright and sunshiney!

Happy 10th Birthday Alex...

My baby turned 10!  Wow, where has the time gone?

He wanted to go to Dave n Busters and since it's about 45 minutes away, he got to choose a couple of friends to go with us.  Jake was the only one that ended up going, but it was perfect, they had a great time!

Their favorite game was a simulated roller coaster game/ride:

 

 The seats shook and they laughed and squealed, drawing quite a crowd!

 

It was such a fun day, so glad that Alex's birthday wishes all came true!

Snow Warrior....

We finally got a snow day from school!  It's only our second one we've had in the five years that we've lived here. 

Alex suited up (Japanese hat and pretend gun included) and went outside to play:

Meet Sherlock Buhls....

Alex had book character day at school.  After much discussion (there aren't many male book characters to dress up as!), he and Bigs decided on Sherlock Holmes.  Alex went came out with two hats on to look like Sherlock's - don't know how that idea came into his head, he amazes us daily!  We couldn't find a magnifying glass, so I made him a paper one and he was fine with it (whew!).

Andy donated an old plaid shirt that I made into a cape.  He was SO cool:

It was that time again, taekwondo belt testing!

 

They had to break boards with their foot, so he's wearing his kicking boot.

 

 

It was a special night because one of our old instructors came back just for the testing, we loved Mr. Ginther:

Chevron love...

I am on the chevron bandwagon, I LOVE it, especially with my new fave color combo: grey and yellow.

Super Bowl....

Yes, I know I'm a little behind!  We had some computer problems and then the camera cord took a vacation.  So here we are on Super Sunday.  This is how we did Super Bowl celebrating:

Daisy's favorite thing to do is lay in front of the fire.  She will put her head on the stone, we've joked about getting her a pillow.

 

 For those who don't know, Andy's NOT a drinker.  I made this martini (Whipped vodka, oj and sprite) and he actually drank one!

 

We finished off the night with some yummy cupcakes from the grocery bakery:

It was a good night, don't know how Alex escaped getting in the photos, little stinker!

Uncle George....

I am so lucky to have had 2 awesome great-Uncle Georges (one on each side of my family).  I found a bunch of old photos and will start scrapping them for my album. 

 

I wanted to write some memories of Uncle George, so on the back I put this envelope, cut it open and journaled:

Spive/Baskette Christmas....

We went back to Sweetwater for one last Christmas celebration (we celebrated with my Dad and Leah, but got NO pictures, boo.).

This is Nannee's newest grandbaby, Gavin:

Isn't he THE sweetest?!  He's such a good baby.  I kissed on him and was going to stick him in my purse, but I adore his sweet momma too much to do that.  Will have to go to DC to visit them soon with stops in Centreville and Fredricksburg!!

(I forgot my camera, but thankfully Andy's cousin Lucy is an AWESOME photographer!)

Cabin Christmas...

After our delicious brunch, we headed to my sister's cabin.  There were presents to be opened there too!

Alex not only got Madagascar 3 but the circus wig to go with it!

Andy got lots of John Wayne goodies!
