I'm dreaming of a white Christmas...NOT...

A white Christmas would be delightful, but not when you are wanting to catch a plane to Florida!

We woke up at 3am Christmas Eve morning to catch our 6:43 flight to Memphis. It's a bad sign when you walk into the Twin Cities airport and there are cushions for sleeping pallats all over the floor, very bad. We board our plane only to sit there, get de-iced and take off an hour late, landing in Memphis just in time to see our connection taking off -
seriously.
In Memphis, they book us on another airline going to Charlotte, then Tally and sent us to a restaurant with meal vouchers to wait. After brunch, head to the new airline to check in. They won't take us because our luggage is no where to be found - seriously.
Back to original airline they have a 2:25pm flight to Tally that is FULL, but might have seats for Mommy & Alex, sending Daddy on the 7pm flight. (I'm texting Jen & Leah at this point with details)
Alex & Mommy board the plane at 2:30, after a teary goodbye with Daddy. The tiny planes fills up and up and up - right before they shut the door, here comes Daddy - I send a teary text to Tally that we are all three on the plane - yay!
Wait...why isn't the plane backing away??? We're sitting, waiting for a new co-pilot because the scheduled one called in sick - seriously. So we wait...
The sweet attendant comes over the speaker to tell us we need to de-board to wait! Luckily the gate is right across from a bar and you know how Tally folks are, super friendly and love to have a toddy, so we wait in the bar area and when the new co-pilot arrives, he gets a standing-O from the entire flight!
So our arrival in Tally wasn't at 11:50am as planned, but at 7:30pm, we arrived to see our family waiting with Santa hats and blinking Rudolph noses so we'd be sure to see them! Ahhh, finally home - where's the wine??
