Field Trip...

Alex's last day of summer school was Thursday and it also was field trip day! We went to Como Park Zoo in St. Paul. It was just beautiful, a small zoo because it's run completely on donations, but just perfectly sized for little people.

This is the entrance:

We didn't get to explore this beautiful building, but we'll go back and check it out on our own:

First up was a pond full of ducks and a few pink flamingos:

Alex loved the sea lions, they were very personable and liked showing off for their audience:

Shhh...sleeping lion:

They had four giraffes, but this one wanted attention and kept coming over to get his picture taken:

Alex yelled, "Mommy, it's Marty" (the zebra from Madagascar!):

It was a fun trip and a perfect way to end summer school. We gave the teachers LOTS of hugs since Alex will be going to a different school in the fall for kindergarten - it was sad, but happy at the same time that they're ready to head to the big K!
