No Tricks, Just Treats....

Happy Halloween!

Alex and I have had THE best week! We started by going to the Haunted Forest:

Alex BLUE NINJA Buhl!!!

Then we had Book Fair at his school that I worked all week and he got to shop three times (one night was Family Pizza night...books, pizza, ice cream and playing with friends - he was in Heaven!)

The week ended with his class' Fall Festival Party!
They played Hot Pumpkin (like hot potato!):

Alex's bestie Max and his mom Becki:

(they're Iowa State fans, so that's what Max is dressed as!)

They played Halloween Bingo:

Made a cute craft (Alex did this ALL by himself, which is huge for him because despite my love for crafts, he's not a fan!):

We made Halloween Funfetti cupcakes:

Then we Ding-Dong-Ditched our neighbors with a plate of cupcakes, Alex LOVED that!!!
Tonight we're having "worms and brains" (spaghetti and meatballs) before heading out to Trick or Treat...good stuff!!
Hope you have a BOOtiful day!
**added two adult scarf-n-hat sets to my Etsy store!

Flaming Jack-O-Lantern....

Alex and I are really getting used to living just the two of us...I was pushing the recycle bin to the street when I turned, he was following me with the garbage bin. I hadn't even asked him to help, he's just helping out! But in true Alex fashion, he did stop halfway down the driveway, flashed his handsome smile at me and asked, "I'm a big helper, aren't I mommy? Am I earning that puppy?" Oh goodness, he's a nugget and I LOVE him!!
We also carved pumpkins and we didn't have any accidents (huge for us!). Alex chose a flaming face for our design:
I just love this picture!!!! (Something about it resembles his cousin Connor!)

All lit up at night:

Thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers for Alex and me...they're helping more than you know!

Etsy offer...

Do you have a blog? If so, post a blurb with a link to my Etsy store and leave a comment here with blog address/link to your post and I will give you FREE shipping on your next order!

I'm adding new things to the store every day, so stop into Scraps of Fabric often, thanks!!!
Goodness, time flies! Lots going on around our neck of the woods!

Our church presented the 1st graders with Bibles. Here's Alex with his:

Aunt Jen came to visit just in time for our 1st snow!!
She and Alex had fun sledding:

Aunt Jen tried to snowboard, but there wasn't enough snow:

Snowball fight:

He LOVED having Aunt Jen here (so did I!!!!):

Aunt Jen helped Alex build his 1st snowman (ever!):

They gave the snowman a baseball hat!!

Alex and I were hoping that Aunt Jen would get snowed in and have to stay longer, but she got to leave on schedule - her boys were more than ready to have her come home, but we sure miss her!!

Today I signed the seller's contract papers on our house and tomorrow is the inspection! I'm going Monday night to look at a couple of townhomes to rent. Please say a prayer that Alex and I end up where we belong!

Thank you for stopping by! :)

Etsy Sparks...

No, Etsy's not on fire or anything! I've got Etsy news and Sparks news here!!

First and most important, we have a Sparks in our house!! Sparks is a young Awana, a Bible study program that our church is involved in. Alex is so proud to be a Sparkie (as he likes to refer to himself!). He loves having his vest and cannot wait to earn bagdges and wings with jewels. He's on his way to doing both because he's been working hard on learning his Bible verses and he's so proud to recite them (and SO am I, couldn't be more proud of him!!!).
Here he is in his vest with his bag and book, ready to head to church:

Such a blessing to have found a wonderful church that we love with wonderful programs for Alex!

I've finally gotten an Etsy store open!!! Here's the LINK to see it...it's not fancied up yet, but I'll get there, just wanted to make sure that I have it up and running was my first priority.

Here are a few things that you'll find there:

Gestures...

small gestures speak volumes, don't they?!

When I "grow up", I want to do small gestures that make a huge impact to others. I was a victim of a random act of kindness today...my sweet friend, Dawn sent me a goodie box from Studio Calico and it meant the world to me, it was just what I needed today! Thank you so much Dawn for thinking of me and being a wonderful person with a loving soul! :) I hope that soon my life will be in the place where I can rak someone, making their day!!

So, no scrapping for me lately, other than cards, but I cannot wait to do something with my box of goodies, so maybe I'll have some layouts to post soon!

Cards that I made:

Another Halloween apron:

Snowman apron:

My first reversible purse:

This purse I made for my wonderful sil, Jenny. Her fave color is red and when I saw this fabric, I knew it was SO her!!

I used some of the scraps of fabric to make her card:

Here they come:

This was Alex's favorite, the ladder truck from Lakeville, our city:

LOts of cool trucks:

There were LOTS more, new ones, old ones, big ones and little ones! What a fun day!
